Why Visit the National Archaeological Museum in Athens?

If you love classic, ancient art, the National Archaeological Museum in Athens is a must-visit. Did you know that it's the biggest museum in Greece? Or that it's home to over 11,000 pieces of art?

The exhibition, located in a neoclassic building from the 19th century, is divided into different rooms that offer a cohesive vision of Greek culture, from the pre-historic era to Late Antiquity. Similarly, there are also spaces dedicated to the Middle East and Egypt.

During your visit, you can explore the permanent collections in the building. Greek sculptures from the 7th century, ceramic jugs that'll take you back to the Greco-Roman times, metallurgy pieces and an infinite number of different objects from the Aegeon civilisations.

Additionally, with this ticket, you'll have access to a mobile application in English which includes an audioguide. You can discover numerous historical facts about the art and artefacts that you see in the exhibition.
