Food Tour Details
After meeting at the indicated time in Plaza del Pozo, we’ll begin our food tour by heading to the Getsemaní neighbourhood. There, whilst we tell you about Cartagena’s culinary traditions, we’ll wander through narrow streets adorned with street art.
During the journey, we'll sample more than 10 local delicacies: from crispy arepas and delicious patacones with cheese to fresh juices, traditional sweets and the famous bolis, the most popular frozen dessert among Cartagena's residents. Each flavour will tell us a story about the fusion of African, indigenous and Spanish influences that bring the local cuisine to life.
Next, we'll head to a local café, where we'll learn how to prepare coffee using the locals' technique. We'll learn secrets about the ideal water temperature, as well as the correct way to add the ground coffee and pour it into a cup. Plus, we'll share the different types of plantation and harvesting methods as we approach the moment we've all been waiting for–it's time to taste authentic Colombian coffee!
The culinary journey will end in Cartagena’s historic centre, opposite the Clock Tower, after a 2-hour gastronomic experience.
