Lying on the banks of the River Tigre delta, this beautiful Argentinian city is full of history and surprises. Discover them on this free walking tour!
The best place to start discovering this charming city is at the train station in Tigre, where we'll meet at the time indicated.
After finding out about the source and route of the River Tigre delta, we'll head to the Sacriste Bridge to discover the history of the city's first inhabitants. We'll then continue the free tour, passing the boat passenger station, where you'll find out more about the water taxis that are the only form of public transport in this area.
The next stop will be at the statue of the ex-president of Argentina, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. Do you know what links this politician with the city of Tigre? Our expert guide will tell you this and more! Afterwards, you'll see the Villa Carmen, which used to be inhabited by an important Scottish family and its design dates back to the golden years of the 1900s, more commonly referred to as the 'belle époque'.
We'll continue discovering the history of Tigre as we see the buildings of two important local clubs: the Buenos Aires Rowing Club and the Club Canotieri Italiani. Finally, we'll end this free walking tour of Tigre at the Puerto de Frutos. You'll arrive just in time for lunch, so don't forget to ask the guide for restaurant recommendations at the port!
You can book up to 18 hours in advance if there are any seats left. Book now and guarantee your spot.
